Missionsproject in the Caucasus
In the summer of 2004 a russian missionary couple moved to the Caucasus. This couple has a Baptist background and have been through a 3-year missions training in southern Russia. Their ministries would be tentmaking, evangelizing and church planting. After 3 years the local church of believers has grown to number around 40 people. Along with their home church in southern Russia we are also a sending church for this couple. This married couple feels that the Lord is leading them to stay on for two more years to teach the new believers. These plans, though, are subject to change. Through this ministry the New Testament has been translated to a local ethnic language and evangelical literature by a local Christian author will be published. This missionary couple and a local translator stay in close contact with us through a Norwegian member of this church who served as a missionary in the area and speaks Russian fluently. We also stay in tough through e-mail, letters and visits.
