The Bible
The the whole Scripture is inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16). By this we understand that the whole Bible is authored by God through holy men driven by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet 1:21) to write down every single word. We believe that all the Scriptures are centered around our Lord Jesus Christ and His work (Joh 5:39 5:46 Luk 24:27). We also believe that the Scriptures have been given to shape and mold us into the image of Christ (2 Tim 3:16 Rom 8:29).
The Trinity
We believe in a true and living God, the Creator and Lord over all things. He is eternal and never changing and has been revealed to us as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father
God, as the Father, reigns over the entire universe. He is almighty, perfect in love, all knowing, full of wisdom (Gen 1:1, 1 Chron 29:10-12). By believing in Jesus Christ one becomes a child of God and is brought into fellowship with the Father (Joh 1:12).
God, the Son
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became fully man without ceasing to be fully God (Joh 1:1-2, 14, Isa 9:6) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Luk 1:34-35) so that He could reveal God (Joh 1:18) and redeem sinful man. He completed this work of salvation by giving himself up a sinless offering on the cross. In this way God’s righteous judgment over sin was completed. He died for our sins and resurrected in body from the grave for our justification (Rom 4:24-25). He is now seated by the right hand of God and intercedes for us whom believe in Him (Rom 8:34, Heb 8:1-2)
God, the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit:
- takes part in the process of salvation of man by the conviction of sin and …
- is a person
- is a gift to every believer
- equips believers for their ministry to God
- came that we who are believers should live a life in this world that is pleasing to God
- is our seal of salvation as a child of God
- is a comforter, helper and teaches what Jesus says
- explores the depths of God and gives the believer insights into His thoughts
As believers we ourselves must choose if we want to be controlled by the Holy Spirit so that God can guide our lives in a way that honors Him and benefits our fellow man.
(Joh 16:8, 1 Kor 12:13, Ef 1:13, Joh 14:26, 1 Cor 2:10, Gal 5:16-26).
Creation
We believe that man was created by God and in His image. We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including every living thing (Gen 1:1, Joh 1:3, Col 1:16-17)
Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but he fell into sin and is lost. This is true of all men; and except a man be born again by the Holy Spirit, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (Genesis 1:26-27; John 3:3; Romans 3:10, 23)
Satan
We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin, he opposes God and lured man so that he chose to disobey God’s command with spiritual and physical death as a consequence, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Gen 3:1-9, Isa 14:13-14, Matthew 4:1-3; Acts 5:3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10)
Atonement for Sin
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that all who believe on Him are redeemed by His shed blood. (1 Pet 1:18-19, Acts 16:30-33, Rom 10:9-10, Eph 1:7, 2:8-9)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God’s grace. It is freely given to all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. All who so trust the Savior are forgiven of their sins and born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. (John 1:12; Acts 16:30-33; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9)
Baptism
We believe that only those who have received Jesus as their Savior can be baptized (Mark 16:16, Acts 8:37-38). Baptism is the believer’s declaration to the world, powers and principalities that he has died from his old life and has been born again unto a new life, that he now identifies with Christ who is also his standard for his new life (Matt 28:19). We believe that there is no regeneration, nor entrance into the Kingdom of God through baptism (Apg 4:12, Gal 1:3-7)
Sanctification
In God’s eyes every believer is holy, righteous and perfect in Christ from the moment of salvation (Eph 2:4-6). The sanctification of a believer is to let Jesus reign in our hearts; in every area of our lives (Eph 3:16-19). It is the believer himself who has to choose if he is to walk in a manner that glorifies God in this world (Gal 5:16-22).
Missions
Until the return of Christ, it is the Christian’s duty and privilege to seek the fulfillment of Christ's Great Commission and to be His ambassadors in this world. We are to be instruments of Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit ministers redemption and reconciliation in the world through believers. (Matthew 25:31-46; 28:18-20, 2 Cor 5:20)
Communion
We believe that communion is a meal where the believers are reminded of Jesus’ death and His promise to return. Communion is also a testimony to the world (1 Cor 11:23-26)
